SUMMARY:Balance Rehabilitation - August 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join our deep dive into assessment and treatment of balance problems by exploring the different components of balance using case examples\, clinical reasoning and practical sessions. \n\n  \nDates:   Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 August 2026 \nTimes:   9:00am – 5:00pm \nVenue:  Eldon Court Education Centre\, Newcastle City Centre \nFee:       £300 \n\n\nWhat to expect\nDay 1 starts with a session reviewing anatomy and physiology of balance followed by a range of practical sessions covering the assessment and treatment of biomechanical\, reactive and cognitive components. \nDay 2 will cover assessment and treatment sensory systems (peripheral sensation\, vision\, vestibular); coordination & motor control components. SUMMARY:Constraint Induced Movement Therapy for Preschool Children - November 2026
DESCRIPTION:This two-day course introduces therapists to the One-Handed Therapy Intervention (OTI) Programme – a unique toolkit for families who have a child aged 2-4 years with hemiplegia.  \nConstraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) is a highly evidence based\, complex intervention to improve hand function of children with hemiplegia. \nThere is no current comprehensive resource to give parents/carers step-by-step instructions on how to use activities to target their child’s goals through CIMT. \nThe OTI toolkit addresses this by providing therapists with: \n\nlibrary of graded\, play-based activity cards\,\nuser manuals\,\ntherapy diary\,\nattractive restraint\,\nmotivational resources\,\nfollow-up bimanual programme\,\ndigital record keeping tool.\n\nThe OTI toolkit ensures that therapists have all the pre-prepared components needed to quickly and easily compile an effective evidence based CIMT programme\, that can then be delivered by families and staff in early years settings. \nThe resources that are given to families are designed to support them to successfully implement the programme. \n\nExcellent. All rights reserved. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOTI Toolkit\nThe course provides thorough training and support in how to use the OTI toolkit. The course fee also includes all the materials in the OTI toolkit (see photo above). \nAt the end of the course\, you will be provided with all the components needed to enable you to deliver the programme with one child in order to complete the post course accreditation process. \nUpon successful completion of this accreditation\, you will be provided with the additional kit components to enable you to deliver the programme to a further four children. \nThis programme uses a range of carefully selected toys which are loaned to families. These toys are not provided and therefore you are required to obtain these in order to deliver the programme. \nYou will be supplied with information of what toys are needed and suggestions of where in the UK you may purchase them. SUMMARY:Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgical Trainee Casting Course – December 2026
DESCRIPTION:During this two day course delegates will learn the basic casting techniques and skills specifically required for CPD surgical trainees development within the NHS. \nOverview\nThis course covers the basic principles of casting techniques and skills specifically required for surgical trainees’ continuing professional development in the NHS. \nIt will explore the appropriate prescriptions relating to injury including the safe application of backslabs as well as full casts with manipulation techniques. \nDelivery of the course comprises a range of presentations and workshop learning led by specialists in their field.
