Paediatric Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography

This interactive course aims to enhance understanding of congenital echocardiography at a basic level of experience and covers cardiac lesions found in both neonates and children.

It covers all primary applications of paediatric congenital cardiac echocardiography, providing comprehensive learning through case-based lectures and practical hands-on sessions brought to life by our wonderful volunteer paediatric patients with pre-operative and post-operative cardiac lesions making the course relevant to those looking after older congenital patients.

Course highlights

• Numerous echo images of a large spectrum of congenital heart conditions will be shown by senior specialist cardiac physiologists
• Lectures by experts in congenital echocardiography (consultants and senior registrars)
• Scanning of paediatric patients, including those with congenital heart diseases.

Learning outcomes

• Learners will acquire an in-depth theoretical knowledge and understanding of the underlying scientific and technological principles of diagnostic ultrasound and a critical understanding of current and emergent diagnostic imaging equipment and technology.
• They will learn the skills and hands-on techniques of echocardiography in children, enabling them to perform a range of clinical examinations to high standards of diagnostic accuracy and safety.
• They will build their study and skill development around echocardiography, which directly relates to their own working circumstances and previous experience.
• By the end of the course, participants should be comfortable with the anatomy of major groups of congenital heart malformation and be able to analyse hearts in a sequential segmental fashion by echocardiography.

Audience

Suitable for anyone involved in care and management of CHD disease – neonates, infants and children – including:

• consultants and trainees (paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric cardiology, ACHD, cardiac surgery, cardiac anaesthesia and intensive care),
• paediatricians with expertise in cardiology (PECS), and
• cardiac physiologists.

Payment

Payments should where possible be made via the online booking system.

If you request an invoice at the point of booking, invoice payment terms are strictly 30 days from the invoice date or 7 days before the start of the event, or the date specified on the course booking page – whichever date is the earliest.

Cancellation and refunds policy

Should you no longer be able to attend the event on the booked date, please contact the Academy as we may be able to offer an alternative date subject to an admin charge.

Should you still wish to cancel your booking, you or your employer will be charged as per the fees outlined below.

If you do not attend on the day, you will be charged the full cost of the event place.
