Master the Assessment and Treatment of BPPV

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common causes of dizziness and imbalance, significantly increasing fall risk – especially in older adults

This condition can greatly impact quality of life, but with the right skills, you can make a real difference.

Course objectives

Join our hands on practical course to help you demystify the physiology and management of BPPV. Our course focuses on practical skills and case scenarios which help you to gain the confidence to:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of BPPV
  • Perform safe, accurate diagnostic manoeuvres such as modified Dix-Hallpike, Side Lying Test and Supine Roll Test.
  • Identify nystagmus direction and interpret results correctly
  • Apply evidence-based treatments including Epley, Semont and Gufoni manoeuvres
  • Communicate effectively with patients about BPPV, its impact, and recurrence
  • Know when dizziness is not caused by BPPV and how refer for appropriate further investigation

Who is this course for?

Any registered healthcare professionals who encounter patients with dizziness or balance issues but would benefit physiotherapists, occupational therapists, hospital doctors, GPs and nurses who will:

  • Learn practical skills
  • Improve patient outcomes
  • Reduce fall risk

Should you no longer be able to attend the event on the booked date, please contact the Academy as we may be able to offer an alternative date subject to an admin charge.
