Orthopaedic casting is a procedural skill. It requires a theoretical basis to underpin practical application and a course of guided practice.
This consultant and orthopaedic practitioner led course will explore the appropriate prescription relating to all musculoskeletal injuries including fractures and will cover the safe application of backslabs and splinting techniques.

This course is aimed at doctors in training, nursing staff and healthcare assistants working in an accident and emergency or urgent care setting as well as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and nursing staff with an interest in musculoskeletal trauma and injuries.
We also welcome applications from orthopaedic practitioners and plaster technicians who do not currently work in a trauma setting, or who would like to refresh their skills.
